ASPCA® and The Rescue + Freedom Project

The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals® (ASPCA®) was the first humane society to be established in North America and is, today, one of the largest in the world.

This organization was founded on the belief that animals are entitled to kind and respectful treatment at the hands of humans and must be protected under the law. Headquartered in New York City, the ASPCA maintains a strong local presence, and with programs that extend our anti-cruelty mission across the country, they are recognized as a national animal welfare organization. They are a privately funded 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, and are proud to boast more than 2 million supporters across the country.

The ASPCA's mission, as stated by founder Henry Bergh in 1866, is "to provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals throughout the United States."

The Rescue + Freedom Project (RFP) is a US based non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing survivors of unique captivity and cruelty and telling their emotionally compelling stories to prompt social change and celebrate a rescue lifestyle.

Since 2010 the charity has been freeing survivors from laboratory experiments, senior and special needs animals from shelters, and victims of horrific abuse from around the world.

Media engagement is a primary conduit to tell the stories of these survivors. RFP's rescue, legislative, and advocacy work has been covered by CBS News, NBC Nightly News, The LA Times, The Washington Post, CNN, HLN, Politico, and scores of local affiliates and regional press outlets.

Compelling visuals often include the first steps of freedom for newly saved laboratory beagles and other animals rescued from abuse. High profile celebrity supporters include Miley Cyrus, Sia, Whitney Cummings, Andy Cohen, and Lara Trump, amongst others.

In 2018 our fundraiser was dedicated to Ventura County Humane Society
We were so touched with the tragedy of Thomas Fire Last year, that we organized the drive that benefited Thomas Fire Recovery Animal Rescue Fund by Ventura Count Humane Society. People enjoyed the wonderful concert by incredible young musicians at the chapel of the Church of St. Paul and St. Andrew on December 23rd, 2017. The children donated all the fundsraises to the Thomas Fire Recovery Fund to help horses, which suffered in fire in California.
